How to check toner levels in most printers
Most printers show estimated supply levels from the control panel, your computer, or a manufacturer app.
On the printer
Look for a Supplies, Status, or Reports menu on the printer’s display. Some models show an ink-drop icon or toner gauge directly on the home screen. If your printer does not have a display, it may print a supplies status or configuration page from its hardware controls.
On your computer
On Windows, look in Printers & scanners or Printing Preferences for maintenance and supply-level settings. On a Mac, open Printers & Scanners, choose the printer, then check Options & Supplies for supply-level information.
Through the manufacturer app
Many major printer manufacturers offer an app that shows estimated toner or ink levels. A networked printer may also show supplies through its own browser-based interface when you enter the printer’s IP address.
